Fidelity Investing #4: Faithful With my Talents
10/11/26 – 11:00am
This lesson explores the call to use the gifts God has given us to serve others, emphasizing that our abilities are not our own. The core of this teaching is rooted in five key truths: I Need to Recognize that God has entrusted each person with something to use, since “each one has received a special gift” (1 Peter 4:10; Romans 12:6); I Need to Stop Comparing My Gift to Someone Else’s, because God has placed every member in the body just as He desired and expects faithfulness rather than the ability to do everything (1 Corinthians 12:14–18); and I Need to Admit That My Talent Isn’t Really Mine, as believers have been “bought with a price,” so if Jesus owns my life, He also owns what I’m capable of doing with it (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). It also emphasizes I Need to Use What God Gave Me to Serve People, since the purpose of every gift is people, following the example of the Son of Man who “did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45), making each believer a contributor to the body rather than a spectator; and I Need to Quit Waiting and Start Serving, because we often discover what we are good at by serving, and faithfulness won’t let us do nothing (Galatians 5:13). Ultimately, the message calls for faithful, active stewardship of our talents in service to others, with the goal of hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
