Faithful: Faithful in Discipline

Faithful: Faithful in Discipline

10/25/26 – 11:00am

This lesson explores what it means to be Faithful in Discipline, embracing God’s correction as a pathway to spiritual growth rather than something to resent or avoid. The core of this teaching is rooted in these defining truths: The Fight Against Sin, where believers are called to resist sin seriously and “lay aside every encumbrance” that keeps them from God; The Evidence of Love, which frames God’s discipline as proof of His care rather than rejection, since “those whom the Lord loves He disciplines”; and The Endurance of the Process, where believers stop running from trials and allow them to produce endurance and maturity. It also emphasizes The Trust in God’s Wisdom, declaring that the Father disciplines “for our good” and works all things together to conform us to the image of His Son; and The Fruit of Righteousness, where the sorrow of correction gives way to “the peaceful fruit of righteousness” in those trained by it. Finally, the conclusion urges believers to not waste the discipline, asking where they have resisted correction and whether they care more about escaping hardship or becoming more like Christ. Ultimately, the message calls for a humble, teachable heart that welcomes God’s loving correction as the way He shapes His children to share in His holiness.
